Porcelain veneers can give you the brighter smile you’ve been looking for. And Total Health Dentistry is Lehigh Acres’s expert.
Porcelain veneers are an ideal solution for people looking to refresh their smile. By covering damaged or worn tooth enamel, porcelain veneers give you a bright, clean appearance and can even help to straighten crooked teeth. When applied properly by the experts at Total Health Dentistry and properly taken care of, porcelain veneers can keep you smiling brightly for years.
Porcelain veneers are a popular choice.
Porcelain veneers are one of our most inquired-about services because of the “before and after” results they deliver. Porcelain veneers are thin, custom-crafted shells inserted onto the fronts of your teeth to replicate a fresh, new layer of enamel. Once bonded, they are natural-looking, almost impossible to detect, and resistant to common stains like coffee, tea, and even cigarettes. (P.S. Don’t smoke!)
How we apply porcelain veneers
CONSULTATION: The first step for every patient is a consultation with one of our experienced dentists. We’ll look at your smile, talk with you about your desired results, show your options, and walk you through the application process. Here are some of the issues porcelain veneers can correct:
- Discolored teeth
- Worn-down teeth
- Chipped or broken teeth
- Misaligned, uneven, or irregularly shaped teeth
- Gaps in teeth
Choosing between porcelain veneers and composite veneers: Preferred by some patients, composite veneers are shaded resins applied to teeth, and are then shaped, sculpted, and polished for a natural appearance. While composite veneers are more convenient to apply and cost less, porcelain veneers are more durable and may last almost twice as long.
FABRICATION: After choosing porcelain veneers, we’ll take a mold of your teeth and send it to a lab to fabricate a customized set of veneers for you. This process takes a week or two.
BONDING: To apply the veneers to your teeth, we’ll place them with water or glycerin. We do final adjustments for color and fit and adhere your veneers to your teeth with a special cement. Your teeth may feel a bit sensitive for a few weeks after application.
CARE: Porcelain veneers are easy to care for. Just floss and brush them daily with a nonabrasive toothpaste. They will be inspected as part of your regular checkups to ensure your bright smile stays with you for years to come.
